The Ci-RES project is a pilot structural project intended for three (3) target groups mainly involved in the project plus a group that will be able to ensure the sustainability of the results at the Algerian national level:
The 1st main group concerns refugees (category B in the project) "because the project defends the right of refugees to have access to higher education, not only academically but also at organic and institutional levels. Why, the project tries to proceed to the creation of institutional capacities in order to be able to facilitate the access and accessibility of the latter to university life in the broad sense.
The first target group: The project targets refugees in each Algerian partner establishment. The proposed activities reflect the importance given by the partners to improving the life of this category in favor of their integration through the training of 20 refugees at the 04 Algerian universities in order to allow them to learn about their rights and their obligations. In higher education establishments, access procedures and modes of operation at the institutional level. Practical workshops are offered in order to put the acquired knowledge into practice and strengthen their integration capacities. Face-to-face training at Algerian universities is also planned by the project for the benefit of refugees for an exchange of practical experiences with other refugee communities at partner universities. In order to meet the need for improving language skills, refugees will have two language training courses: the first in Arabic and the second in French which will allow them to integrate into the university community, in the first place, and to have an immediate access to second year courses. Language courses can help them overcome their frustrations and increase their chances of following a course with confidence and success. This activity is programmed during the second year of the project, with the participation of all the Algerian partners as well as the MESRS.03 operational phases are also programmed for the benefit of refugees in order to strengthen intercultural dialogue concluded with the organization of a cultural event in Sétif. Refugees will also have the opportunity to participate in open houses with socio-economic actors to express their needs for the labor market and to increase their chances of employment through the professional liaison office of the universities. Cultural, sporting and professional activities would allow refugees to express their work needs and communicate their fields of skills and interests. They will be able to express their integration difficulties in the broad sense.
A local dissemination conference will also be hosted in each Algerian university by all the refugees trained in the presence of the university community, society, civilians, NGOs, stakeholders, local authorities and the ministry in order to present the results of the project and ensure awareness-raising at local, regional and national level.
The 2nd target group is the teacher-researchers (10 in total) ”(category A in the project), just like the refugee students, the teacher-trainers must participate in the reading of the courses of modules 1, 2 and 3, to participate in the workshops practices, training courses at European universities in order to enable them to understand the needs of refugee students. Some teachers may also be chosen from among the teaching staff affiliated with the professional liaison offices of Algerian universities in order to strengthen professional dialogue with socio-economic partners in favor of the employability of refugees. Modules are intended to introduce basic notions on the legal and political aspect on the question of refugees; Module 1 (CNID-REF),module 2 (OI-REF) but also an educational aspect through the course content of module 3 (MAP-REF) on the skills approach, the service approach and the intercultural approach. Teachers and researchers will have the opportunity to develop courses during practical workshops supervised by Algerian and European researchers.
The trained teachers will participate in the drafting of internal regulations and the organization of cultural and professional awareness activities.
The third target group is the administrative staff (10 in total) of all the Algerian partner establishments as well as the staff responsible for cooperation and professional integration at the level of the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education. Once again, the administrative staff will have "tailor-made training" (DAI-REF) in order to manage all administrative aspects related to the reception of refugees, orientation, the accreditation process and recognition of credits, and ongoing monitoring for academic and professional career development during module 2. The office responsible for refugee affairs will consist of theall staff trained at the level of each university, made up of people assigned to the international relations services and staff of the liaison and professional integration office in each university, under the supervision of the multilateral cooperation office at the level of Ministry.
The 4th target group is "civil society" which will be reached through the activities of the project: for example intercultural dialogue events organized in all Algerian universities, meetings with potential employers, awareness-raising actions as well as focus groups. Their role is essential in supporting the activities undertaken and in strengthening awareness-raising and dissemination activities.
